Company: AKB CENTRE LIMITED
Location: AKB Centre HQ, Oyster Village, Donholm, Nairobi.
Position: Intern (Business Development & Admin/Accounts Support)
Duration: September 01, 2025 – February 28th, 2026: 6 months
Purpose of the Role
The intern will provide structured support to both the Business Development Unit Lead (BDUL) and the Front Office Unit Lead (FOUL), contributing equally to the two functions. The role will enhance operational efficiency, assist with records and documentation, business growth, and as well strengthen financial and administrative processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development Support (50%)
a. Assist in market research, data analysis, and preparation of investment briefs and proposals.
b. Support the preparation and formatting of business proposals, presentations, and reports.
c. Contribute to project documentation and progress tracking for all initiatives currently under development as well as future initiatives.
d. Assist in coordinating meetings, partnerships, and stakeholder engagements under the stewardship of BDUL.
e. Any other task as will be reasonably assigned by the BDUL especially on projects roll out/pre-implementation.
2. Admin & Accounts – Front Office Support (50%)
a. Assist in basic bookkeeping, data entry, partner and investor accounts updates & reconciliations, and preparation of payment schedules.
b. Support the preparation of financial and operational reports, budgets, and pre-audit documentation.
c. Help in document filing, correspondence handling, and meetings minutes preparation.
d. Provide operational and communication support for projects, and stakeholder follow-ups.
e. Any other task as will be reasonably allocated by the respective unit’s lead.
Qualifications
a. Final year or completed bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
b. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with accounting tools.
c. Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.
Expected outputs
a. Timely delivery of research reports, proposals, and project updates.
b. Accurate financial entries, reconciliations, and reports.
c. Well-maintained filing systems (physical and digital) and updated projects documentation.
d. Positive support to business growth, administrative efficiency, and financial compliance.
