Speaking at the official closing ceremony of the 19th Ambassadors' Conference in Nairobi, underscored that the Kenyan diaspora is a driving force for Kenya's development whose immense potential must be fully harnessed.

The four-day event was themed: Advancing Kenya's Interests in a Rapidly Evolving Geopolitical Landscape.

President William Samoei Ruto today opened the 19th Ambassadors and High Commissioners Conference in Nairobi, highlighting Kenya’s progress towards transformation and its growing role on the global stage.

In the past three years, the Kenya Kwanza Administration has made significant progress in delivering the national transformation agenda, guided by a KSh5 trillion plan aimed at moving the country towards a first world economy.

This ambition requires a coordinated, whole of government approach. As reforms continue at home, Kenya’s ambassadors and high commissioners have a key role in clearly communicating the country’s potential, building strong partnerships, and advancing national interests.

They are expected to secure new markets, attract investment, unlock opportunities, and strengthen Kenya’s position globally.

Kenya is not only open for business, it is ready to lead.

Our goal remains to position Kenya as a premier investment destination and a trusted partner in shaping the future.

Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki, joined by Vice President Han Zheng of the People’s Republic of China, flagged off the first consignment of Kenyan products destined for export to China at the Nairobi Railway, Syokimau.

This milestone marks a major breakthrough for Kenya’s economy, as our exports now enjoy duty free access to the Chinese market, opening up vast opportunities for our farmers, traders and businesses.

From coffee, tea, avocados, nuts, fruits, vegetables, flowers to minerals, Kenyan products will now enter one of the world’s largest markets at zero tariff, directly boosting incomes and livelihoods across the country.

Trade is the engine of wealth creation, and through strategic partnerships such as this, Kenya is steadily closing the gap with developed economies.
