It is a profoundly sad moment for our nation following the passing of Kenya’s former Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga.

Mr. Odinga was the most consequential political figure of our time. As a Member of Parliament, Cabinet Minister, and Prime Minister, he championed transformative reforms that reshaped our country’s political and social fabric.

His legacy will be defined by his unwavering selflessness. He consistently put Kenya first, making decisions not for popularity, but for principle. A man of conviction, he believed in constitutionalism and the rule of law, yet was pragmatic in building consensus for the sake of national unity.

On a personal note, Hon. Odinga was my political role model his wisdom, generosity, and counsel were a constant source of inspiration.

To eulogize him is to admit that words fall short. We have lost a true patriot, mentor, and father figure.

On behalf of the entire MECHEO MOVEMENT FOR MATIANG'I 2027 fraternity, I extend our heartfelt condolences to Mama Ida Odinga, their children Rosemary, Winnie, and Junior and his brother, Dr. Oburu Odinga.

We stand with them in prayer, trusting that God will grant them strength in this time of great loss.

May the Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga rest in eternal peace.

On behalf of the Mecheo Political Movement, we firmly oppose today’s announcement and the publicized plans by all Members of County Assembly (MCAs) from Kisii and Nyamira counties to visit State House, purportedly to follow up on development promises made by the President.

We, the people of Esise, stand united in rejecting this move by our MCA. We believe such actions must be guided by transparency, accountability, and a genuine commitment to the interests of our communities not political theatrics or personal gain.
