I used to think insurance was one of those “adulting things” you only hear about when someone says, “You should really look into that.” You know… right after they’ve told you to drink more water and sleep earlier.
So naturally, I ignored it.
Life was good. My car was behaving (mostly), my health was “fine” (according to Google), and my child’s education? Oh, I had a solid plan: “We’ll figure it out.” Very strategic.
Then one day, life decided to humble me.
It started small. A weird noise in the car. I turned the music up. Problem solved.
Next week? The car refused to start. Completely. Not even a cough. Just silence. The kind of silence that makes you question your life choices.

Of course it is.
As I’m processing that emotional damage, I get a message from school about “upcoming fees.” Not next year. Not someday. Now.
Ah yes, the famous “we’ll figure it out” plan… working beautifully.
And just when I thought life had finished its comedy set, I fell sick. Not the “drink tea and you’re fine” kind. The “hospital bill incoming” kind.
At that moment, everything became very clear:
I was not “saving money” by avoiding insurance… I was just delaying expenses and making them more dramatic.
That’s when I remembered those messages I used to ignore:

Now?

Crazy, I know.
