Took this pic of my unfinished house yesterday as I got home from a stroll and I was reflecting....
You know what they lied to you? That when you build your own home, you would save ile pesa ulikua unalipa rent. Wooiii woooiiii woooiiiii.
My friend, usidanganywe. The moment you move into your own home, the bills escalate.
1. Electricity bill shoots
2. Water bill shoots
3. You have to adjust mshahara ya DM
4. Extra cost ya shamba boy
5. Every few months repairs hapa na pale
6. Cost of security is another thing
7. Cost of fuel since maybe nyumba iko mbali
Wueeehh wueeehh wueeehhhhh. Alafu sasa ikue umejenga na loan, mama miiaaaaaa. Mshahara inaingia hivi, kwanza loan inakatwa, ile pesa unabaki nayo inaenda kwa expenses. Unaskia tu kuweka sign hapo kwa gate imeandikwa "Hotel now open.".
(But on the flipside, the peace of mind that comes with this....priceless. The birds chirping, the gardening, etc Me hukaa ata wiki mbili bila kutoka kwa boma....Also, my kids nowadays rarely get sick. And a doctor friend of mine once told us that ni sababu hewa ni safi- less allergies, healthy meals, etc. It made sense)
Ohh, and there will be days you will be broke mpaka unadelay mshahara ya DM. And she will be there thinking ni madharau, not knowing ako na pesa mingi kwa savings kukushinda.
Who else is experiencing this? Ama nateseka pekee yangu?
