We felt honored to have our CEO+Principal Consultant John Kalungi. Kabuye, also a member of IFC - International Finance Corporation EDGE Buildings faculty, featured in their recent video highlighting the impact of the EDGE Program in accelerating the adoption of practices in Kenya.

Green buildings have never been expensive or difficult to build. A fit-for-purpose tool to communicate a standard, appropriate strategies, cost, certification mark is what the market needed to make what's invisible or cryptic, visible. The IFC EDGE system has done its part and played its role in demonstrating that green buildings are truly everywhere and can be built, retrofitted and experienced everywhere by everyone!

Last Friday, the team at the Miundo Misingi Hub had an informative session with John Kabuye Kalungi of BESIC Group Ltd, the Hub's partner. This was with a view to internalising the breadth and depth of the Envision sustainability framework which is the ESG rating tool from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure.

This as we set out to have use of the framework established in the market which like the rest of the African continent is in great need of a systemic way of entrenching sustainability and resilience in the entire life cycle of its infrastructure projects.

The framework allows for a credible and replicable process that integrates sustainability into the delivery of infrastructure assets from concept, design, financing, implementation, operation and exit.

It will be invaluable for governments in the region who are the biggest investors in infrastructure and who would wish to maximise value for money on behalf of their people. It will also be invaluable for project financiers as it allows for a full review of sustainability measures across the entire project lifecycle from a risk perspective.

Finally it will be of great value to private project sponsors whose objective is to minimise cost and maximise return on investment.

We look forward to engaging stakeholders and to elevating the profile of ESG integration into our infrastructure investments in the East African region.

We are proud to announce a partnership with the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure to enhance the implementation of sustainable and resilient infrastructure solutions across the East African region.

The Institute is a nonprofit organization that developed and manages Envision®, a globally recognized framework and rating system that encourages systemic and holistic changes in the planning, design, and delivery of sustainable and resilient infrastructure.

As part of this mandate, the Institute empowers professionals, leaders, and communities to understand and enhance their sustainability performance, reduce their carbon footprint, promote health and well-being, and contribute to a higher quality of life.

The memorandum of understanding signed with the Institute will enhance the Miundo Misingi Hub's capacity to deliver on its agenda under the sustainability and ESG pillar through a number of initiatives. Key among these will be building awareness about sustainable & resilient infrastructure and sustainability practices in the infrastructure sector in the East Africa region.

It will also enable the introduction of the Envision framework into the East African market, giving project sponsors a credible rating tool for their projects. This will help drive the infrastructure sector towards more sustainable and resilient solutions as well as potentially opening up avenues for access to sustainable financing opportunities.

The BEFORE-AFTER image after the cleaning contractor used our NANOWORKS bio-degradable METIC to remove concrete then used NANO AOIFAR LADIR bio-degradable Degreaser-cum-Cleaner to wash the truck. No more acid washes that corrode surfaces and bad for the environment.
