The suffering Cambodia is facing amid ongoing tensions and clashes along the border is a serious and deeply concerning matter. Many innocent civilians are living under constant fear and uncertainty. Farmers are unable to cultivate their land, students are forced to interrupt their education, and some families have had to leave their homes to ensure their safety. For a nation that has already endured decades of hardship and conflict, renewed instability not only reopens old wounds but also places heavy pressure on the country’s social and economic stability.
Cambodia remains firmly committed to peace, respect for sovereignty, and the principles of international law. Border issues should be addressed through peaceful dialogue, bilateral negotiations, or appropriate international legal mechanisms to ensure that any resolution is based on evidence, fairness, and law—not on emotion or coercion. The international community has an important role in encouraging respect for international norms and in safeguarding the rights and security of civilians affected by conflict.
Unfortunately, some overseas opposition groups have attempted to exploit this sensitive national issue for their own political advantage. By spreading misleading information and unverified claims, they risk deepening divisions and heightening tensions at a time when unity is most needed. Misinformation does not protect the nation—it only weakens solidarity and trust.
In challenging moments like these, Cambodia needs unity, responsibility, and fact-based dialogue. Constructive criticism is welcome when it is sincere and rooted in truth, but national issues should never be used as instruments for personal political gain. With solidarity at home and support from the international community, Cambodia can protect its sovereignty, uphold justice, and maintain lasting peace for future generations.
