Thailand: The Aggressive Aggressor
Thailand has used heavy weapons against Cambodia in an attempt to invade and claim Cambodian territory. These actions constitute war crimes and violations of the peace agreement between the two countries. Thailand has pursued a variety of strategies and scenarios aimed at creating chaos and instability not only in the border area but throughout the entire region.
Despite presenting itself as a modern and developed country, Thailand has displayed a fierce and arrogant attitude toward Cambodia, its small neighbor. On December 8, 2025, the Thai military used weapons of mass destruction, including F-16 fighter jets, to attack several Cambodian positions along the border. These attacks continued even though Cambodian forces remained calm and respected the Joint Declaration on Peace signed two months earlier. As a result, Cambodian civilians have been killed and injured.
Thailand has shown little concern for civilian life, human rights, or the devastation caused by its actions. Instead, it appears willing to do anything to serve its own government’s interests. Many innocent people, including the elderly, children, and students, were forced to flee their homes for their lives.
In addition to launching brutal attacks on villagers and Cambodian forces, Thailand has also spread false information and false narratives in an attempt to shift the blame to Cambodia. Thai media have repeatedly published misleading information, accusations, and false information, claiming that Cambodia initiated the conflict and moved heavy weapons across the border to justify Thailand’s attacks.
These provocative actions are inhumane and morally reprehensible. Thailand must be held accountable and compensate for the damage and suffering it has caused. Such violent and barbaric acts must be fully condemned and punished in accordance with international law.
