Yesterday at INNex INNEXPO 2026, K-Architecture - Yvon Chalm Architect had the opportunity to share a talk around the relationship between craft, material expression, and architecture.

Thank you to the organizers, speakers, students, professionals, and visitors who joined the discussions throughout the event. It was encouraging to see such strong interest in architecture, fabrication, detail, and the future of design practice in Cambodia.

Architecture begins long before a building is occupied — within the material, the process, and the people who make it possible.

Honored to take part in a collective discussion alongside distinguished speakers at INNex

Together, we will explore the theme:
“Expressing Materials — Craft · Texture · Detail”

The conversation will introduce on how architecture is shaped through materials, construction techniques, textures, and the human hand behind the making process.

Architecture begins long before a space is occupied.

It exists in the grain of wood, the roughness of concrete, the precision of details, and the memory carried by every surface.

Looking forward to this exchange of ideas with fellow professionals, designers, and makers.

Honored to be part of INNex INNEXPO 2026 and to contribute to the discussion around materiality in architecture.

“Expressing Materials — Craft · Texture · Detail”, explores how architecture is not only shaped by space, but also by the intelligence of making.
From the grain of wood to the roughness of concrete, from joints to surface textures, materials carry memory, process, and human labor.

In an era dominated by images, this conversation seeks to bring attention back to the tactile, the crafted, and the overlooked dimension of architecture.

At K-Architecture - Yvon Chalm Architect, we develop the architectural vision, the spatial logic, and the structural concept of each project.

At K box Solution, we transform this vision into reality through engineering, shop drawings, steel fabrication, and on-site installation.
Every steel element is carefully studied, detailed, fabricated, and assembled to ensure that the original architectural intention is fully respected.

This collaboration allows us to control the process from the first sketch to the final installation, with a strong focus on precision, buildability, and quality.
