Liyanwala Builders Established in 1987 as the 17th Registered Civil Construction Company offering construction services

Liyanwala Builders was formed in 1989 as one of the very first private sector civil construction and contracting companies with ICTAD registration No. 000017 – a few months af ter government’s decision to let private sector presence in the construction industry. The company has firmly grown since then from ground level to a level in which they were offered projects by governments, foreign diplomat

s, private sector corporates and multinational organizations. Liyanwala Builders is the brainchild of its founding chairman Chandrasiri Liyanwala – who was then a technical officer at The Buildings Department of Sri Lanka, later became the Chairman of Liyanwala Group – who managed the operations to year 2009 from the time of inception. Today the company’s is run and managed by Kalpa Liyanwala, the only son of Liyanwala fami ly who took over the overal l management of the company in year 2010 – whi le his spouse Mihirini Fernando being the chief f inancial advisor to the company. With Kalpa’s leadership and the utmost commi tment of i ts employees from al l levels of the organizat ion, today Liyanwala Group caters to mid-scale construction and contracting projects from housing schemes to multistory apartments, hotels & factories.
