Today, we joyfully celebrated Indigenous Clergy and Religious Day at our church and sub-station, St. Sebastian Church, Hantana, under the beautiful theme: "From the people, for the people…." 🙏

The Eucharistic celebration was organized with great devotion and meaning, honoring our priests and religious. A special highlight was seeing our Sunday school students dressed as priests and religious what a heartwarming glimpse of future vocations!

A heartfelt thank you to all our dedicated catechists and supportive parents for your tireless efforts in making this day so memorable and meaningful for our children. God bless you all! ❤️

🏏 A huge congratulations to the "We Are One" Team - Cathedral Youth for emerging as CHAMPIONS, and to Hanthana Youth for a brilliant performance as Runners-up! 👏🏆

In the women's category, Cathedral Queen took the crown as Champions! 👏🏆

With 14 teams giving it their all, the spirit of the game was truly alive today at Aruppola.

We were also honored to have our Parish priest Rev. Fr. Sudath Perera, Assistant Parish Rev. Fr. Michael John, Rev. Fr. John Stephan, Rev. Fr. Douglas Xavier, Rev. Fr. Supun Perera, Rev. Fr. Nirushanthan CRS and Rev. Decon. Rohan Peiris grace the pitch with us.

Thank you to St. Anthony's Cathedral Youth for organizing this wonderful tournament. Every single team played with heart and sportsmanship!

Today, our Sunday school celebrated its day under the inspiring theme of "Our Church." The event was graced by our chief guest, Rev. Fr. Roshan Dilrukshan, Director of the Diocesan Catechetical Apostolate, along with our parish priest, Rev. Fr. Sudath Perera, Assistant Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Michael John, and Rev. Deacon Rohan Peiris.

Beyond their regular syllabus, the students had the wonderful opportunity to learn about our patron, St. Anthony, and the rich history of our church. They researched these details thoroughly and presented them excellently throughout the programme. Meanwhile, our primary students added a creative spark with a beautiful art exhibition depicting scenes from our church's heritage.

Special thanks go to all the catechists and parents for their invaluable support in making this day a resounding success.

Our beloved parish, under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Sudath Perera, is currently undergoing much needed renovation and painting. We kindly ask for your prayers for all the hardworking laborers and generous supporters who are making this possible.

May God protect every worker, bless every donation, and bring this task to a joyful completion.
Let us pray that this renewed space will be a true home for all who seek the Lord.

📍 Venue: Municipal Ground, Aruppola
⏰ Time: 8.30 AM onwards

📋 RULES & ELIGIBILITY:

✅ Open to ALL parishioners of St. Anthony's Cathedral
✅ Players must be 16 years or older
✅ Teams must have 10 players (including 2 reserves)
✅ Don't forget to bring your own bats!
✅ Registration Fee: Rs. 1000/- per team
