A practicing Liberian Journalist Meshach Dagbay Wonpoe Sr. ,a proud reporter of this platform has officially announced his resignation from his position as Reporter at Magkie FM 90.5MHz / Magkie's TV, effective Sunday, October 18, 2026.

In an open letter of appreciation and resignation addressed to the management, staff, colleagues, friends and the general public, Wonpoe said his decision was made with gratitude, humility and respect.

According to him, his resignation comes at a time when he is increasingly focused on his personal growth, professional development, and other important areas of his life.

"This decision is part of my ongoing journey toward becoming a better, more responsible, and more accomplished individual. It should not be interpreted as a sign of ingratitude, disrespect, or a lack of appreciation for the institution that gave me an opportunity to serve and grow," he stated.

Wonpoe expressed profound appreciation to the General Manager, Mr. Zikar N. Vulluleleh Sr., for believing in him, giving him the opportunity to become part of his workforce, training him, and helping to develop his skills in the news department.

He also extended heartfelt appreciation to his senior brother, Patrick M. David, Chief Host Presenter of the Magkie Morning Drive, with whom he served as co-host.

Wonpoe clarified that his resignation from Magkie FM / Magkie's TV does not mean he is quitting journalism or abandoning his responsibility to inform, educate and serve the public.

"My resignation does not end my journalism career. I remain committed to my professional journalism career and to the values of responsible reporting, public service, and the dissemination of credible information," he emphasized.

He also thanked Liberia Rural News TV, State TV, Buu-Yao Communication Network (Buu-Yao TV) and other online media platforms through which he continues to contribute.

The Representative of Nimba County District #7 and Political Leader of the Citizens Movement for Change (CMC), Hon. Musa Hassan Bility, has finally heeded the numerous cries of citizens concerning the deplorable condition of the damaged bridge along the Saclepea to Bahn highway, just before Tozoe High School.

The road, which serves as a vital link connecting several communities and schools in Saclepea, has been a major concern for residents and commuters.

Following my live broadcast from the site a few weeks ago highlighting the poor condition of the bridge, the Nimba County Chairman of the CMC, Chairman Jeremiah B. Yangean informed the public that the Political Leader would intervene to rehabilitate the damaged bridge.

Today, that promise has become a reality, as culverts and an excavator have arrived on site to commence full rehabilitation work, courtesy of the CMC Political Leader, Hon. Musa Hassan Bility.

BREAKING NEWS: “2029, I WILL BE ON THE BALLOT” — EFFL’S EMMANUEL GONQUOI DECLARES

Emmanuel D. Gonquoi of the Economic Freedom Fighters of Liberia (EFFL) has declared his intention to be on the ballot in Liberia’s 2029 elections, expressing confidence in his political future and calling on Margibi County to position itself for greater representation in the country’s national leadership.

Speaking about his political journey and growing ambitions, Gonquoi emphasized that he has experienced significant political growth over the past two years, insisting that his current status reflects a new level of ambition, influence, and leadership.

“The Emmanuel D. Gonquoi you knew two years ago is not the Emmanuel Gonquoi standing before you here today. Margibi County will not be used as a scapegoat,” he declared.

Gonquoi further highlighted what he described as a significant difference between his current political standing and his previous engagements in Margibi County, stating that his presence today is “even much more presidential.”

The EFFL figure also challenged the perception that Margibi County cannot produce a presidential or vice-presidential candidate, arguing that the county has the potential to contribute to Liberia’s highest levels of political leadership.

“There is no curse on Margibi that we can’t produce a presidential candidate or vice-presidential candidate. In 2029, I will be on the ballot,” Gonquoi asserted.

His declaration signals his intention to participate in the 2029 electoral process, placing his political ambitions and Margibi County’s potential role in Liberia’s national leadership at the center of political discussions.

As the 2029 elections approach, Gonquoi’s statement is likely to draw further attention to the political aspirations of individuals seeking to represent Margibi County at the national level.
