A quick update:

1. Itā€™s winter ā„ļø

Winter this year in Latvia started early with lots of snow and temperatures hitting -30! Iā€™m actually gutted we donā€™t get to experience it this year!
This does mean though that even if we were there, not much would could go on at the Forest Heart.

Though we do have our little helpers completing a few prep tasks. (Watch out for an update)

2. We are in a planning mode šŸ—’ļø

Winter is the best time to plan for the new season!
We are planning to have the retreat open all year round when we get to that stage but it probably wonā€™t happen that quickly.

So for now now, we are busy planning for the new season hoping to open the glamping this summer! ā˜€ļø
Baby brain isnā€™t exactly helping with this but it sure makes it fun. šŸ˜‚

3. Assessing our level of craziness šŸ¤Ŗ

In reality, navigating this will not be easy! Having a baby, sorting out the travels, going back and forth for Jameā€™s triathlon, a wedding and all sorts of other commitments while opening our doors at The Forest Heart might seem like a ridiculous idea! šŸ™ˆ

Maybe. Probably. šŸ˜‚

But we are doing something that we are passionate about and thatā€™s what matters. I am sure with some help and trust in the Universe we can make this happen.

And even if it doesnā€™t, it doesnā€™t end there! There is always next year!

I can assure to myself and you that The Forest Heart will be opening its doors soon. The exact time - I will leave this for the Universe šŸ™

MÅ«su draugs stārÄ·is Stenlijs, ir aizlidojis lÄ«dz ar rudens iestāŔanos. šŸ˜”

Vai zinājāt, ka stārķi ir izcili putni?

šŸŖ½ Majestātiski migranti.

StārÄ·i ir pazÄ«stami ar saviem neticamajiem migrācijas ceļojumiem. Viņi nolido tÅ«kstoÅ”iem jÅ«džu starp vairoÅ”anās un ziemoÅ”anas periodiem. Stenlijs ziemā dodas uz siltāku galamērÄ·i! Viņam pārāk labi neveiktos, temperatÅ«rā, kura pārsniedz -20 grādus. Ak, kā es viņu saprotu!


šŸŖ¹ UzticÄ«gie ligzdotāji.

Stārķi ir slaveni ar savu uzticību savām ligzdoŔanas vietām.
Viņi gadu no gada atgriežas vienās ligzdās. Tāpēc mēs zinām, ka Stenlijs noteikti atgriezÄ«sies! šŸ¤—

šŸ‘¶ Mazuļu tēviņŔ.

StārÄ·i ir cieÅ”i saistÄ«ti ar mazuļu ienākÅ”anu, pateicoties ticējumiem un mÄ«tiem.
Viņi, protams, faktiski nelaiž pasaulē mazuļus (lai gan cik tas bÅ«tu interesanti? šŸ˜œ)
Bet viņi ļoti nopietni uztver savu audzināŔanu.

šŸŖ³Kukaiņu kontroles profesionāļi.

StārÄ·iem ir izŔķiroÅ”a nozÄ«me ekosistēmā, palÄ«dzot kontrolēt kukaiņu populācijas. Viņi ir lieli ēdāji un var apēst daudz Å”o nepatÄ«kamo kukaiņu. Paldies Stenlij šŸ™Œ

āœØ Ilgmūžība

Ir zināms, ka stārķi priekŔ putniem dzīvo diezgan ilgi, daži sasniedz pat 30 vai vairāk gadus. Stenlijam priekŔā ir daudz piedzīvojumiem bagātu gadu!

Pagaidām atvadāmies no Stenlija, bet gaidām viņa atgrieÅ”anos un piedzÄ«vojumus nākamajā gadā. šŸ‘‹

Did you know storks are quite remarkable birds?

šŸŖ½ Majestic Migrants

Storks are known for their incredible migratory journeys. They travel thousands of miles between their breeding and wintering periods. Stanley is off to a warmer destination for the winter! He wouldnā€™t do too well in over -20 degrees. šŸ„¶ Oh, how I understand him!

šŸŖ¹ Loyal Nesters

Storks are famous for their loyalty to their nesting sites.
They return to the same nests year after year. So we know that Stanley is definitely coming back! šŸ¤—

šŸ‘¶ Baby Boomers

Storks have a strong association with the arrival of babies, thanks to folklore.
They don't actually deliver babies of course (though how cool would that be? šŸ˜œ)
But they do take their parenting very seriously.

šŸŖ³ Insect Control Pros

Storks play a crucial role in the ecosystem by helping control insect populations. They're big eaters and can gobble up a lot of those pesky bugs. Thanks Stanley šŸ™Œ

āœØLongevity

Storks are known to live quite long for birds, with some reaching up to 30 years or more. Stanley has plenty of flying years ahead! šŸŖ½

While we wave good bye to Stanley for now, we look forward to his return and more storky adventures next year. šŸ‘‹
