Happiness is a psychological phenomenon that is deeply studied in biology and neuroscience . Research has identified the role of neurotransmitters, hormones, brain regions, and genetic factors in promoting and regulating happiness. Understanding these biological aspects may offer insight into the mechanisms underlying happiness and provide potential avenues for intervention to improve well-being . For example, a 2021 study of more than 40,000 families in Great Britain found that regular consumption of fruits , vegetables, and regular exercise increased happiness levels, regardless of income level, place of residence, gender, education, or age group.
