🔦 [St. Paul's Bay] This small coastal CAVE may not be much more than a fissure in the rock [the black abyss is filled with water], but it is an intriguing site for several reasons. • Near its bottom, a bricked-up WW2 shelter is said to branch off. • The low-curved masonry ribs/arches [two of them missing] appear to have been installed to prevent the gap from collapsing [being structurally entirely insufficient, though]. • The arch in the rear likely follows the line of the original, overlying homes, while the concrete slabs in the foreground carry the current coastal road. • Every detail tells a story. © Marc Zimmermann
