This weekend marked the beginning of the Gozo festa season with the feast of St Anthony celebrated in Għajnsielem 🎆⛪

From now until the end of summer, almost every weekend will see a different village celebrating the feast of its patron saint, with streets decorated in colour, band marches, fireworks, processions, and a strong sense of community filling the island 🎺✨

The Maltese festa is recognised by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and experiencing one during a stay in Gozo is truly one of the best ways to understand the island’s traditions and character 🇲🇹🌿

The Inland Sea is one of those spots in Gozo that we always find ourselves coming back to 🌊

There’s something about the calm water, the fishermen’s huts, and that narrow tunnel carved through the cliffs that makes it feel different every time.

If you’re there, it’s worth hopping on one of the small boat trips that take you through the 80-metre tunnel and out into the open Mediterranean. It’s a simple experience, but one that really gives you a sense of the place from a different perspective ☀️
