Job Title: Gardener/Handyman 👨🌾
Main duties:
• Maintain and grow the garden to ensure it meets specific requirements and expectations;
• Perform basic maintenance such as cutting the grass, emptying bins, managing w**d control;
• Plant and nurture new trees, flowers, and various plants;
• Work with hand tools and basic light machinery such as plant vehicles, and small diggers;
• Service all garden equipment and machinery;
• Maintain a clean garden by clearing rubbish and litter from the garden and grounds;
• Provide guidance to management on matters related to the garden;
• Advise management on the necessities;
• Perform cleaning activities (dusting, mopping etc), stocking and supplying designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc);
• Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls etc;
• Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues-carry out minor electric works;
• Install appliances and equipment;
• Carry out plumbing works – replacement of taps, silicone joints, flush mechanism;
• Do garden/yard upkeep by mowing lawn, collecting trash etc whenever gardener is absent;
• Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs;
• Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations;
• Prepare painting surfaces by washing walls, repairing holes, or removing old paint;
• Mix, match, and apply paints and other finishes to various surfaces;
• Suggest additional repairs when identified and needed;
• Ensure a safe environment for staff and clients by adhering to safety and health regulations; and
• Perform additional duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY COMPETENCIES 📝
• Below SC/ HSC;
• 3-5 years gardening experience;
• Good communication and organisational skills;
• Highly responsible and reliable;
• Ability to work in a team;
• High degree of integrity and professionalism ;
• Fit and capable of heavy work;
• Able to work in all weather conditions and able to use machinery, lawn mower, trimmers, brush cutter, hedge cutters, chainsaw etc;
• Good knowledge of plants.
