LOS CABOS TOURISM BOARD REACTIVE STATEMENT Fall 2025 False Commentary October 8, 2025
Recently, there have been some inaccurate and misleading reports about threats from cartels on U.S. citizens living in Mexico and traveling to Mexico, including occasional mentions of Los Cabos. These reports do not reflect the reality of Los Cabos, which continues to be a safe, secure, and welcoming destination for visitors.
The Los Cabos region maintains one of the highest standards of safety and hospitality in Mexico, supported by strong coordination between the Los Cabos Tourism Board, local government, and the private sector. Visitors continue to enjoy world-class experiences, from luxury accommodations and award-winning dining to sustainable outdoor adventures, all within a community dedicated to guest safety and well-being.
Specifically, we would like to remind our visitors about the safety and security protocol that has been implemented across the destination to help ensure a safer environment and positive travel experience. This includes:
• Security Surveillance: There is a surveillance camera network dedicated to monitoring high-traffic tourist areas across the destination.
• Marine-Led Safety Model: Mexico’s elite Marine team continues to lead on-the- ground support for destination safety alongside their state-of-the-art intelligence center.
• Dedicated Task Force: Los Cabos has an emergency response team, which maintains direct communication with authorities, emergency services and local partners.
• Cohesive Public-Private Collaboration: Los Cabos’ public and private sectors are invested in keeping the destination safe and secure.
Los Cabos remains a safe and secure destination to visit. The U.S. Department of State travel advisory for the of Baja California Sur remains at a Level 2: “Exercise Increased Caution.”
