When my wife and I began looking for a home in the Lake Chapala area, we had very specific requirements. We rented for two years to make sure we truly understood the different communities and their unique quirks. We wanted a property outside of Ajijic and Chapala in a quieter, more rural setting with room for our dogs. We were also specifically looking for a home we could remodel, as we have extensive renovation experience and genuinely enjoy taking a home from bland to grand.
While our search included all the normal considerations — location, layout, potential, and value — the decision was also deeply emotional. We were searching for a place that felt right for the next chapter of our lives.
After a few swings and misses with other experiences, we connected with Century 21 and our agent Alicia. She turned out to be absolutely perfect for us. We are extremely picky buyers and admittedly tend to change our minds often, but Alicia never pressured us and always seemed to understand exactly what we were looking for — even when we struggled to explain it ourselves.
After viewing only three properties with her, we found the perfect home.
What further strengthened our confidence was how professionally everything was handled during an unexpected title issue. The seller immediately returned our entire purchase funds until the matter was fully resolved. That level of integrity and transparency gave us tremendous confidence throughout the process.
Beyond Alicia, the management staff at Century 21 was professional, responsive, and genuinely appreciative of our business. Throughout the process, we always felt supported, respected, and valued as clients.
We are now in the middle of transforming our new home and could not be happier with where we landed. We are extremely grateful to Alicia and Century 21 for helping us find not just a house, but the right home for our lifestyle, vision, and future.
