ARTIST REVEAL | LIZETTE INZUNZA
Our next Loreto Vivo artist has played an important role in Loreto’s arts and cultural community for many years.
We’re excited to introduce Lizette Inzunza, a watercolor artist, graphic designer, painting instructor and longtime cultural promoter here in Loreto. Lizette has participated in more than 90 group exhibitions and 18 solo exhibitions, with her work shown throughout Mexico as well as in France, Italy, Spain and the United States.
But there is more to Lizette’s story. She has twice served as Director of Culture for Loreto and spent years leading the Kumutu Exhibition Hall. In 2013, she was awarded the Mérite et Dévouement Français medal in Paris for her work promoting culture.
Her love of watercolor comes from watching color move through water, and you can see that freedom throughout her work. Vibrant color, contrast, light and shadow come together in paintings that range from the familiar boats and landscapes of Baja to wonderfully imaginative compositions.
Lizette also believes strongly in bringing art to people who might not otherwise have access to it, particularly children, seniors and rural and underserved communities. That connection between art and community makes her a particularly fitting artist for Loreto Vivo.
Come meet Lizette and experience her work in person this December.
