Got temporary or permanent residency in Mexico?

Wether you have a temporary or a permanent residency, obtaining the RFC (Registro Federal de Contribuyentes) is now mandatory and essential.

Steps to get your RFC:
1. Get an appointment at SAT’s website (http://www.sat.gob.mx)
2. Gather these documents:
Passport (original & copy)
Resident card (original & copy)
Proof of address in Mexico (recent utility bill no older than 3 months)
CURP (Clave Única de Registro de Población)
SAT appointment confirmation
3. Attend your appointment 15 minutes early.

Double taxation refers to income tax being paid twice in different countries on the same source of income.

Double Taxation Treaty In Mexico

Under the double taxation treaty, any tax paid in the country of residency will be exempt in the country in which it arises.

Mexico has more than 50 tax treaties. Here's a list of some countries that have a double taxation treaty with Mexico:

Travel in time of COVID-19
