Needs to happen with a couple judges in East Tennessee hopefully it will and some crooked ass lawyers politicians DAs the good old boys eventually, they need to go down legally. It’s all out there just somebody has to get the balls to do it.
Breaking: Chief Judge Arrested After Family Court Allegations Lead to Criminal Case
Just two months after being appointed Chief Judge of the Georgetown Municipal Court, Richard Dana Todd Jr. has been arrested by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) on a charge involving alleged unlawful conduct toward a child.
According to the arrest warrant, investigators allege the conduct occurred between 2023 and 2024 and began when the child was nine years old. The warrant details allegations of Todd getting into bed with the child and engaging in sexual behavior while explicit material was present.
Todd denies the allegations. Through his attorneys, he says the accusations are false, retaliatory, and stem from a highly contested family court dispute. The allegations have not been proven in court and he is presumed innocent.
Todd turned himself in to SLED on July 30. He was booked into the Georgetown County Detention Center that afternoon and released the following morning on a $35,000 bond.
The South Carolina Supreme Court didn't wait.
Within hours, the Court suspended Todd from the bench, writing that it had received "credible information" indicating his continued service as a judge posed a "substantial threat of serious harm to the public and the administration of justice."
Todd is no stranger to the courtroom. Before becoming Chief Judge, he spent nearly two decades in South Carolina's legal system, serving first as a prosecutor and later as a public defender.
One detail stands out.
Todd's attorneys say these allegations came out of a contested family court case. If that's true, the allegations didn't stay there. They became the subject of a state criminal investigation, an arrest by SLED, and the suspension of a sitting chief judge.

As of today, the criminal case has not yet appeared in South Carolina's public court index, and no future court date has been publicly announced. We are continuing to follow it.
