Puerto Vallarta turns 105 years old as a municipality and 55 as a city this 2023.
On May 31, 1918, the Congress of the State of Jalisco issued the decree that elevated the then precinct of Las Peñas to the category of municipality, changing its name to Puerto Vallarta.
The celebration usually concludes with a big anniversary cake and a fireworks display. 🙌🏻🍾🍰

El 31 de mayo de 1918, el Congreso del Estado de Jalisco dictó el decreto que elevaba a la entonces comisaría de Las Peñas a la categoría de municipio, cambiando su nombre a Puerto Vallarta.
La celebración concluye, por lo general, con un gran pastel de aniversario y un espectáculo de fuegos artificiales.
