🌮 The tortillería walk 🌮

Down the hill, just past the corner with the pink bougainvillea, is where the magic happens. The smell of fresh corn tortillas wafts out onto the street every morning. The señora behind the counter knows me by name now. She hands me a warm sample while I wait.

Walking back up the hill with a stack still steaming through the paper wrapping. This is the real Puerto Vallarta.

🛒🥭 My Saturday ritual: the walk to the local tiendita.

I grab my woven bag and head down the Amapas hillside to the little corner shop where Doña María knows my name. She sets aside the ripest mangoes for me, the freshest limes, and her homemade tortillas that are still warm.

I pick up fresh cilantro, a chunk of cotija cheese, and some avocados that are perfectly ready. Back at the condo, I whip up a quick salsa and some tacos for lunch : all from ingredients found within a 5-minute walk.

This is what I love about living here. No big supermarkets, no plastic packaging. Just local, fresh, and personal.

🌸 Scents of the Amapas hillside 🌸

Every evening, the neighborhood smells different. Early mornings it's damp earth and coffee from the kitchen next door. By midday, the bougainvillea and jasmine take over, their sweetness hanging thick in the warm air. After rain, everything smells fresh and green like the jungle itself is exhaling.

This is what home smells like. Come breathe it in.

🦋 Winged jewels of the hillside 🦋

Right outside our doorstep, the garden puts on a daily show. Yellow swallowtails dancing from bloom to bloom, blue morphos flashing through the canopy like living stained glass. The monarchs stop by on their migration journey.

Growing up here, I learned that the best entertainment is the one nature provides. Free, wild, and absolutely breathtaking.
