I booked the Villa Ventura for my daughter’s bachelorette 4 day long wknd. 12 women were invited. Seven of us ended up being able to go. We all got our own bedroom suite. The moment you arrived to this stunning villa you knew you were in a magical place. The views were magnificent! The Mexican Latin decor charm so tastefully done. We were immediately greeted by our host Patricia, who was always available for my many questions and happily obliged. The house chef and his crew were impeccable!! Every meal was so delicious and a delight! Not to mention he made amazing margaritas! Every morning we woke to a clean space and the smell of breakfast cooking. The pool area was a fun place for us to play and have some girl time. The water in the pool was always clean and cool, which we needed as it was very hot. Whenever we needed an Uber it was easy to get one within ten minutes or so. I highly recommend this Villa! I would go back in a heartbeat. I miss it already!

People are waking up in Puerto Vallarta this morning to sunshine and a city steadily returning back to normal.

Puerto Vallarta is NOT a war zone. The city is open, businesses are operating, and life is moving forward. If you talk with people on the ground, they will tell you, it was scary, but that they feel safe and hope visitors won't cancel their plans. One of the most meaningful ways to show up for the community right now is simply to show up. This is a tourist driven city. Thousands of families rely on visitors, from restaurant staff, tour guides, housekeepers, beach vendors. Dine at the restaurant that just reopened, purchase that souvenir that you don't really need. Step into the local shops and support the people who make this destination special.

As one post beautifully stated: "Every peso spent in the community is a statement: We are not afraid. We are still here. Puerto Vallarta is not defined by the criminals trying to control the headlines. It is defined by its people - resilient, hardworking and proud of the paradise we call home."

We would never encourage travel if we did not believe it is safe. We cannot predict the future, and yes, there are still businesses that are very much damaged. Before cancelling or changing your reservation, take time to research carefully and be wary of misinformation or over sensationalized new stories.

Villa Ventura and staff are ready to welcome you!
