The Festival of Kites & Giant Kites hits Progreso July 18-19, and it is exactly the kind of weekend that's better with a comfortable home base nearby.

Massive kites overhead, beach crowds, music, and an entire weekend built around looking up. Stay close by in a fully equipped apartment with pool access, so the festival ends and the relaxing part just keeps going.

Playa Santa María is one of the best beaches in Cabo and somehow still flies under the radar.

Clear water, good snorkeling, and far fewer people than Medano. You can get there by car near Cabo San Lucas, or we can book you a daytime snorkel trip so you arrive by boat instead of parking lot.

Worth adding to the list.
