🐝 A little something you probably don’t know about me…

Before Puerto Vallarta, real estate, and ocean views became such a big part of my life, I was a beekeeper. 🍯

Yes, that’s me in the bee suit! 😂

My grandpa kept bees, and somewhere along the way, that love of bees became mine. What started as curiosity turned into a full-blown obsession. There is nothing quite like opening a hive, hearing that gentle hum, watching thousands of bees work together with perfect purpose, and tasting honey you've harvested yourself.

I don't have any hives at the moment, but I still stop to admire every bee I see. I'll happily talk about pollinators, native flowers, honey, or why bees are some of the most important creatures on the planet. (Fair warning if you get me started... 😂). 🐝 🌺

One of the things I love about Puerto Vallarta is that there's room for so many different kinds of dreams. Some people want to wake up to an ocean view. Some want a ranch with horses. Others dream of a home with a garden, fruit trees, and enough space to keep a few hives.

Helping people find their version of paradise is one of my favorite parts of what I do.

(I always keep local honey in my pantry. If you have a favorite local beekeeper in or around Puerto Vallarta, please send me your recommendations! 🍯.)

Can I tell you the biggest mistake I see Puerto Vallarta sellers make?

They wait until they're ready to sell before talking to a Realtor.

The owners who usually end up with the smoothest, most profitable sales are the ones who start planning months in advance. They have time to make small improvements, understand the market, and avoid expensive last-minute surprises.

Even if you're 6 months away from selling, now is actually the best time to start asking questions.

Ever wonder how rooftop palm trees get there? 🌴🏗️

I finally got to watch it happen.

These palms didn’t magically appear on the rooftop terrace. A crane carefully lifted each one over power lines, balconies, and neighboring buildings while a crew on the roof guided it into place. It looks effortless from the street but there’s a lot of planning (and trust!) involved.

One of the things I love about real estate is getting a behind-the-scenes look at how homes and buildings come together. Sometimes it’s the big moments like this that most people never get to see.

Next time you’re admiring a rooftop garden in Puerto Vallarta, you’ll know it probably took a crane, a skilled crew, and a whole lot of precision to get those palms there.

Real estate in Puerto Vallarta doesn’t stop just because it’s hot and humid.

The glamorous part is showing beautiful homes with incredible views.

The less glamorous part? Stepping outside and immediately wondering why you even bothered doing your hair.

Still wouldn’t trade it.

When people think about living near Puerto Vallarta, they usually picture beaches, sunsets, and ocean views.

And they’re not wrong.

What surprises a lot of people is that just outside the city, places like San Pancho offer a completely different lifestyle. Horses, ranches, open land, and a slower pace, all within an easy drive up the coast.

One of my favorite things about living here is that you don’t have to choose between beach life and country life. You can have a little of both.

Confession…

Pretty much everything I knew about Futbol before living in Mexico I learned from Ted Lasso. 😂

Living in Puerto Vallarta has been an education, though. When Mexico plays, you know it. Restaurants get louder and TVs magically appear everywhere!

Mexico got the win Tuesday, and now everyone’s gearing up for Sunday’s match. I’ll be watching along with everyone else, while quietly hoping Ted Lasso didn’t leave out any of the important rules.

Futbol is life, right? ⚽🇲🇽

Beach days in Puerto Vallarta are usually perfection. Warm water, beautiful coastline, and great swimming conditions.

Just please, for your safety, mind the flags:

🟢 Green – good conditions, usually safe to swim
🟡 Yellow – some current or surf, just stay aware
🔴 Red – strong water movement, better to stay out
⚫ Black – beach closed
🟣 Purple – marine life alert (stingrays, jellyfish, etc.)

You’ll usually see the flags posted right on the beach.

If you want to check before you go, there isn’t one perfect live “dashboard,” but updates sometimes get posted through Puerto Vallarta Protección Civil / local government pages and local beach reports online, otherwise the most accurate read is still what’s actually flying at the beach that day.
