If you hold temporary or permanent residency, your re-entry must be processed manually by an immigration officer.
Do NOT use the passport scanner kiosks at the airport — these are for tourists only.

Using a kiosk will admit you as a visitor, which can invalidate your residency and force you to restart the entire process at a Mexican consulate.

✔️ What to do when arriving in Mexico
1. Go to the immigration line for “Mexican Citizens & Residents.”
2. Present your:
• Passport
• Residency card (temporary or permanent)
3. The officer will manually register your re-entry in the INM system.

Feel free to share this with anyone who holds residency in Mexico — it can save them major headaches at the airport.
