Mickey Muñoz is one of those people who deserve the moniker “legend” not just because of his history as a big wave surfer, inventor of the Quasimodo stance, his surfboard shaping and sailboat design, his adventurous approach to life, but because he is a font of surf history and great stories in general. There’s nothing like listening to Mickey talk story. Though our paths don’t cross often despite living here on the southern East Cape (mainly because I stick to my little bay and he to his) I am proud to call him friend.
