We are proud and honored to support Shriners Club San José del Cabo and to share the exciting news of an upcoming Golf Tournament for a Cause, taking place on October 31st at Palmilla, one of the most prestigious communities and golf destinations in Los Cabos.

This special event is about much more than golf. It is about coming together to help children facing serious burns, orthopedic conditions, and other complex medical needs.

As many of you know, the Shriners’ mission is a truly beautiful cause: helping children receive specialized care and giving them the opportunity for a healthier, brighter future. The impact of this support can positively change the course of a child’s entire life.

“I love the walkability. Three grocery stores you can walk to. The roundabout is now complete — I call it the ‘joy-about’ because it’s a joy to go through it. You can walk to the town of San José, which is really nice. Tons of restaurants and shops. It has a small feel, small yet big. There’s the Art Walk where it gets really busy, or you can walk around when it feels like there’s not very many people. It’s nice and it’s peaceful.”

Every year, without fail, it happens.

Starting around November, the gray whales and humpbacks make their way down the Pacific coast of Baja California Sur. It’s one of the longest migrations of any mammal on earth, and Los Cabos sits right in the middle of the route.

The humpbacks breach. The gray whales come close enough to watch from the beach. And from the San José Bay District, on a calm day, you don’t always need to go far at all.

One of our Albaluz owners mentioned it without us even asking. Whales from the terrace. Rays jumping. Baby turtles on the beach.

It happens twice a day. Most people miss at least one.

Just before sunrise, the sky goes from deep blue to pale gold, spreading slowly across the water. Then the hour before sunset — the light turns warm and low, the Sea of Cortés glows from underneath, and the colors start. Pink first, then deeper, then something no filter has ever accurately reproduced.

After all these years, it still stops us mid-sentence.
