Big Government
Before heading to work, I was watching the debate on American television on whether or not to impeach Trump. One man summed it up the best when he said, “we are all lawyers in the room here. I stopped at that, and thought they are all educated businessmen that choose to earn a living on the backs of the American people. They are all fighting constantly and can’t possibly get anything done during the distraction of an ongoing soap opera in the White house.
If politicians had integrity, would refuse to be paid because the job is not well done. I am referring to production in compensation for what you are paid. If you don’t produce you don’t get paid. Reality for most. The two parties fight because each of them wants access to the book filled with blank checks. Jaja The truth is the money has to be borrowed to pay you today. The future looks grim with your bad credit rating with the World Bank. There is nothing left in the cookie jar. You may all have to get real jobs and earn your keep.
The politicians claim to be educated, but the reality of it is, greed has them distracted so their focus is not the problems your nation faces. It is apparent with e COVID virus, the two most powerful nations on the planet get into a pi***ng match over trade. Soon thereafter, Donald Trump is claiming victory and telling the World how he taught the Chinese “the art of the deal”. I think it is likely that of the 1.6 billion Chinese people, there are a few that speak English. You can imagine how the received this message from the EGOmaniac leader Donald Trump.
Because of false news, we will never know the truth, however the origin of the virus and the ongoing negotiations between the two create suspicion. The U.S. has suggested that China be sued for the damage they have caused. I would like to add, they are not alone in this crime, and the both nations owe the World compensation and at the very least, an apology. Look at what you have done? Your greed and need to win costs all citizens on the planet. Even if you were to compensate every nations, you can not give us back our time. There is no argument that we all have suffered duress and anxiety as a result of these actions. Not to mention loss of life, and a loss of freedom of rights.
What have you learned from this exercise? I hope both nations will think about their actions. The American economy strength is derived 66% from consumption, and this is being reflected in the drop in their stock market. I will speculate that a few short months ago, their economy was never better in history reflecting optimism. Today the real value is 66%. Functioning on borrowed money. I would imagine their credit rating with the IMF is falling and they must be nearing their spending limit. Before the crisis they were 23 trillion in debt and they had a stimulus package of around 3 Trillion. That amount was spent by last Friday. They will require more funding to get their country operational. Most nations don’t appears to have money for a rainy day, so they are closed for business. A figure from last week has them loosing 22,000,000 jobs with the government offering to pay many of these people.

To end on a positive note, In contrast to North American politics, the Prime Minister of Sweden take the bus to work. I like this guy. He deserves a raise, the Swedish people live a lifestyle second to none. I admire and salute Stefan Löfven as one of the few politicians I have any respect for.

Sweden’s Scandanavian neighbor Norway, has a rainy day fund worth more than a Trillion dollars. Wow, way to take care of your Citizens with a job well done. Give them a raise as well.

I am jealous and disappointed, neither Canada, the United States can compare to the great job those governments have done for their citizens. I recommend hiring them as consultants, a wise business decision. Have these politicians explain where you went off the tracks, and offer a solution on how to regain your integrity and trust.
No economy in the world today can afford big government. The spending habits of yesterday are not sustainable. Stop consuming Chinese junk. Send it back. Learn to live within your means. Stop showing off and accept your humility. Think about someone other than yourself for a change. Get your s**t together, we are tired of your selfishness. Begin with an apology to the world, and a solution on how you are going to change and why we should trust you. Enough of the blame game, own this disaster and grow from the experience.
Disappointed.

Worthy of Sharing
I wanted share with you a number of habits and rules of thumb I have learned over the years in business. These behaviors and habits have a lot to do with how people perceive you. I took note on the topic a couple of weeks ago and received an e-mail that triggered me to finish the job and put my thoughts in writing. Good habits in business can make the difference in how you are received and whether or not you get what you were looking for. Here are a few examples and techniques I feel are worthy of repeating. I will start with greeting somebody,

Avoid Fault finders, they are never happy and have made a habit of their behavior. It is not your problem, however they can make your life a living hell because misery loves company. A short conversation with them will often expose their need to blame everybody for their situation. They like to play the blame game and are not accountable for their actions. They often possess a large “pain body” and you are not a therapist, so let them go. Find an easier piece of business, you are worth it.

Confidentiality in business is crucial and owed to your clientele. They would appreciate you keeping the private details of their business private. It is common in my industry to catch people bragging, or name dropping. This can get you into trouble and can damage the situation for your client if you are divulging information that is sensitive and personal to them. I have signed confidentiality agreements in the past, and even without one, you owe it to your client to keep quiet about their affairs.

When greeting someone at your office or their place of employment. You should offer your hand to initiate a handshake. Try to match the firm, or subtle handshake of the person you are shaking hands with. Often you will encounter people feeling a need to crush your hand, often giving the wrong message and getting off to an uncomfortable start. When dealing with a couple, be sure that you are eye to eye with them and transferring back and forth equally with both parties. It is important to include both people in the conversation.

Use salutations whenever you are communicating with someone. It takes only a moment but makes all of the difference. Without using salutation in your correspondence, you appear rude and uneducated. You lack of salutations can trigger a bad attitude from someone, (me) and lessen the chances of you achieving your desired outcome. It is important to speak in full sentences, and be thorough. .Anything less indicates you are in a hurry, and are off to do something you would rather be doing. It will give the impression that you are anxious, lazy, and you take shortcuts. If you want to save a little typing, use bullets to get your point across. It will be easy to understand, and therefore an effective way to communicate your message.

Phone etiquette is another favorite of mine. There are many techniques you can learn that will help you become a better communicator. To begin with, start with a salutation, Good morning, good afternoon, when calling someone, or Christie's International Real Estate, Randy speaking, how can I assist you? If you speak on the phone with a smile on your face, it will raise the tone of your voice and the recipient will know you are smiling. They will as a result be more receptive and you are likely to be a better communicator as a result.

I have worked with some who would cut me off before I got the salutation completed, and then jump right to their question or reason for calling. I find this anxious behavior rude, it leaves me annoyed and thus non-compliant. The anxious caller will then slam the phone down in my ear, indicating they are in a hurry to get off the phone. While talking on the phone, avoid side conversation while you are on the phone, give them your undivided attention. The sensitive microphone can pick up these sounds on the other end, and your secrets will have been discovered. Gentle place the phone down, so if they are on the line they will not find this behavior or the noise offensive.

It is good practice to wear your smile always so that it will lift your spirits and reflect your enthusiasm. It will make people curious as to why you are always happy, and they will want some of what you have got going on. It is also difficult for somebody to give you hell, when you are smiling at them. A smile lightens the mood and makes people more receptive to you. I hope you have enjoyed my rant about bad manners in business.
I love the following two “rules of thumb” in business.

“Remember it is nice to be important, but it is more important to be nice”.

“Be careful the ass you kick today, may be the ass you have to kiss tomorrow”

Good Luck with your business and communication skills.

Have a great weekend Friends.
