2026 Residency Financial Requirements

Here is a summary and they are on my web site.

Each consulate has a web site and the requirements may vary. Some consulates require original financials. The amounts are per person and using an exchange rate of 18 to 1 for US $ and 14 to 1 for Canadian $. To make an appointment check consulate’s web site.

Temporary Resident

• Monthly income $5,250 US / $6,750 Can. (300 days x minimum wage 315) employment or pension showing 6 months of bank statements, or

• Investments $87,500US / $112,500 Can. (5000 days x minimum wage 315) with 12 months of individual statements, or

• Home ownership in Mexico worth 12,520,000 pesos (40,000 days x minimum wage 315) per person. You will need deed. If two are on title, double home value.

Permanent Resident

Many consulates require applicant to be of retirement age.

• Monthly income $8,750 US / $11,250 Can. (500 days x minimum wage 315) employment or pension showing 6 months of bank statements, or
