PLAYA LAS PALMAS WHERE THE OCEAN MEETS THE HISTORY OF TODOS SANTOS 🌴🌊

Long before Todos Santos became known for its galleries, restaurants, and laid-back coastal lifestyle, this valley was an important oasis in Baja California Sur.

The name Las Palmas is deeply connected to that history. In the early 1700s, Jesuit missionaries established an outpost in the area, eventually founding the Misión Santa Rosa de las Palmas in 1733. The surrounding palm groves and reliable water made this one of the few places in the region suitable for settlement and agriculture.

Today, Playa Las Palmas offers a completely different way to experience that same landscape.

Palm trees, open Pacific coastline, wide stretches of sand, and the Sierra de la Laguna in the distance create the unmistakable contrast that defines this part of Baja: oasis, desert, and ocean in the same place.

It is a quieter side of Todos Santos one where the landscape does most of the talking.

And perhaps that's what makes Las Palmas worth visiting.

Not simply for the beach, but to understand a little more about the place that surrounds it.

Every home has a story. Ours began with a dog. 🐾🌊

Long before Casa de Surfo overlooked the Pacific, there was a Black Labrador who welcomed everyone to Cerritos Beach as if they already belonged. He greeted strangers like old friends, walked them to the break, and made sure they left knowing the place. His name was Surfo.

This home carries his name. And his approach.

Welcome to Casa de Surfo.

Cada hogar tiene una historia. La nuestra comenzó con un perro. 🐾🌊

Mucho antes de que Casa de Surfo contemplara el Pacífico, había un Labrador negro que recibía a todos en Playa Cerritos como si ya pertenecieran al lugar. Saludaba a los desconocidos como a viejos amigos, los acompañaba hasta las olas y se aseguraba de que se fueran conociendo este rincón especial. Su nombre era Surfo.

Esta casa lleva su nombre. Y también su forma de recibir a las personas.
