To calculate the Memorandum of Transfer (MOT) for a RM600,000 house in Malaysia, you can use the stamp duty rate for each price tier and add the results together.
Step 1
Calculate the stamp duty for each price tier
First RM100,000: 1% of RM100,000 = RM1,000
Next RM400,000: 2% of RM400,000 = RM8,000
Remaining RM100,000: 3% of RM100,000 = RM3,000
Step 2
Add the results together
Total stamp duty = RM1,000 + RM8,000 + RM3,000 = RM12,000
