OPR : ADAKAH RAMAI AKAN MAKIN MISKIN DAN BANK MAKIN KAYA?

Ramai yang tak puas hati dengan keputusan BNM naikkan lagi OPR ke 3.00% baru-baru ni.

Tak dinafikan, OPR rendah akan rencatkan ekonomi dalam jangka masa panjang. Tapi bila matanya naik sikit demi sikit dalam tempoh yang tak berapa nak jauh, akan ada yang terdesak dan rasa benda ni tak adil.

Buat lah infographic cantik mana, warna warni sana sini sekali pun beritahu kebaikan OPR; untuk mereka yang duit makan pun cukup-cukup, semua tu tak penting pun. Bagi mereka asal OPR naik, beban pun naik sebab hutang makin mahal.

Di mata mereka, keputusan untuk naikkan OPR tu hanyalah kejam semata-mata. Tak faham rakyat, tak seimbang dengan income dan tak selari dengan keadaan.

Kenapa sebelum ni OPR rendah; kerana pandemik covid melumpuhkan ekonomi. Kenapa OPR naik selepas tu; kerana ekonomi kita dah makin pulih. Orang dah mula berbelanja, pergi luar negara, berebut beli tiket Coldplay apa semua.

Tak bermakna keluhan ini tak valid; nasib orang lepas pandemik hari tu berbeza-beza. Dari zaman sebelum covid lagi sebenarnya kita dah lihat ramai professional; lagi-lagi fresh grad, dibayar gaji rendah. Ini bukan benda baru.

Semua loan kita akan jadi lebih mahal, bagi mereka yang sedang menanggung hutang - hutang jahat yang banyak akan merasa kesan ini lebih dari biasa.

Selagi tak diterangkan dan diberi solusi, selagi itulah persepsi ini takkan berubah; ‘bank akan sentiasa makan duit orang miskin.’ Anda sedang risau, dan kami faham benda ni.

Tapi apa pun yang jadi, dalam satu pertarungan, kita kena kenal siapa musuh kita dulu, kan?
