The 2019 Stamp Duty Exemption for First Time Home Buyers.

In an effort to reduce the cost of ownership of first home for Malaysian citizens, the stamp duty will be exempted up to RM300,000 on sale & purchase agreements and loan agreements for a period of 2 years until December 2020.

To break it down, the exempted value for RM300,000 are as follow:

- Maximum Property Stamp Duty Exemption is RM5,000

- Maximum Loan Duty Exemption is RM1,500

In addition, the property stamp duties are waived for residential properties valued from RM300,001 to RM1 Million for 6 months only from 01 January 2019 to 30 June 2019. However, the waiver is only valid for residential properties that are purchased from the developer only.
