KOTA KINABALU, 3 July 2026 – Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP) hosted a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Sabah Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO), led by Group General Manager Datuk Ar. James Wong Kein Peng. The visit, joined by representatives from SEDCO subsidiaries, was part of a corporate learning and strategic engagement initiative to strengthen industrial development in Sabah.

The delegation was welcomed by KKIP Chief Executive Officer, Madam Cecilia Amid, together with the KKIP management. The discussions reflected a shared aspiration to adopt a more coordinated and synergetic approach in supporting the State's industrialisation agenda on industrial park planning, investment facilitation, infrastructure, and ecosystem management. Both parties explored collaboration in areas such as industrial infrastructure, construction technologies, affordable housing, township development, telecommunications, and construction materials.

The delegation toured KKIP’s Industrialised Building System (IBS) facility, with exchanges on innovative precast and IBS solutions.

KKIP also shared its experience in the planning, development, and management of an integrated industrial park, while SEDCO provided updates on its strategic initiatives, including the Kudat Blue Economy Industrial Park (KBEIP).

The visit underscored the importance of inter-agency collaboration, with KKIP and SEDCO reaffirming their commitment to building a resilient, competitive, and future-ready industrial ecosystem for Sabah.

YB Datuk Ewon Benedick, Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transportation, chaired the monthly Task Force Meeting on the Implementation Plan to address the congestion at Sapanggar Bay Container Port, held at KKIPSB office.

The Task Force consists of representatives from Ministries, Government Agencies, Port Operators, and Logistics Associations, focused on executing 10 key measures to ease port congestion while also addressing emerging issues.

With the collective commitment of all stakeholders, the Task Force are determined to enhance efficiency at Sepanggar Bay Container Port, ensuring smoother trade flows, stronger connectivity, and driving Sabah's growth forward.
