With the lower cost of borrowing, it's said to help support the economic growth and stabilization the ringgit as Bank Negara Malaysia is expected to keep the Overnight Policy Rate (OPR) steady at 3.00% throughout 2025.
KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) is likely to reduce the overnight policy rate (OPR) to 2.75 percent as early as July this year in response to the risks of slower economic growth due to the US new reciprocal tariffs, CIMB Securities Sdn Bhd said.
