Yesterday was inspiring!

The team of JLL Malaysia welcomed the professors and students from the University of Malaya’s Faculty of Built Environment to our office for an Industry Learning Programme on strategies and certifications.

From WELL and LEED certifications to strategies for aging office buildings, we discussed how considerations are reshaping Kuala Lumpur's office market and creating competitive, productive workplaces for the future.

Special highlights: two of our team members, Sean Khoh & Furqaan Rashid, both UM alumni, shared their career journeys at , while the Senior Sustainability Manager, Prisca Winata from JLL Indonesia joined virtually to share her ESG expertise—bringing relatable, real-world perspectives that truly resonated with the students.

As land becomes increasingly scarce and expensive, it is no longer economically feasible to build landed homes at affordable price points within urban areas. High-rise apartments therefore provide a more accessible entry point for homeownership in respect of middle income earners. Given their relatively lower absolute prices compared to landed properties, demand in this segment remains resilient.

JLL Malaysia's Managing Director, Jamie Tan also sees opportunity in repurposing under-utilised commercial buildings into residential units as the market adapts.
