Hock Seng Lee Based in Sarawak, Hock Seng Lee is involved in engineering, construction and property development.

Hock Seng Lee's origins date back to the mid-1960s, when it started out as what was principally a sand dredging and landfill operation. The company's first purchase to launch this partnership was a timber dredging vessel, named Hock Seng Lee, or "good business" in the local Hokkien dialect. Hock Seng Lee Berhad (HSL), the flagship company, grew rapidly and was incorporated in January 1979. Since then, it has gone on to diversify and expand into marine engineering, civil engineering and construction works. On 10 June 1996, HSL was listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia (stock code 6238). HSL is headquartered in Kuching, Sarawak and its operations extend throughout the state, with projects encompassing a wide range of civil engineering and construction works as well as complex infrastructure projects.

In just 24 hours, we’ve received hundreds of comments across HSL’s main page and the event page.

We’re over the moon. Ninety-nine per cent said YES to the proposed new 31km Sejingkat Bridge race.

Our next step is to present the proposed route — together with your overwhelming support — to the relevant authorities.

Fingers crossed, we’ll get the green light to take across the new Sejingkat Bridge.

Our site office is coming along really nicely.

Fun fact: we're converting a house built in 1967 into our site office, while doing our best to keep as much of the original house intact as possible.

Some of the original Japanese beautiful tiles, like those on the staircase, are no longer made locally. We've kept these, along with parts of the original wooden flooring upstairs, with only a few small touch-ups to keep them in good condition.

There’s no need to change what is already beautiful. We're simply giving this old house a second life.

The show officially starts today, till Sun, Oct 4. There will be bonsai demos by masters throughout the weekend, at the centre of our mall.
