“Don’t care!! Must be landed…”
To live in a landed home, there will be qualifications unfortunately. Within the city, the landed homes will be very expensive. And the main hurdle will be the time and money for the renovation of the house. Easily within the city, a decent landed home is about RM800k - RM1 mil. We need to having an income of about RM15k per month just to own it, then upfront payment - RM 180k + RM300k for renovation😱
Alternatively, let’s get landed homes further away from the city. The challenge will be the state of career we are in. It’s gonna be a terrible idea if I’m still required to clock in the office at 9am everyday. If both husband and wife travel to work everyday lagi teruk😑 Ending up we will spend more time on the road then being in the house…
My suggestion will be to get one unit close to the workplace first. Imagine travelling only 20 mins to work everyday, there will so much headspace to work on the things that matter to us. Until the family expands while we have better career stability, only move into a landed home. But if we cannot make it, the landed home wouldn’t make sense when we are too old also. Who’s gonna maintain the staircase and garden right?
