🏠 Planning to Rent a House? Here’s What Tenants Should Prepare Before Move-In
Before collecting the keys, tenants usually need to prepare the basic move-in cost.
Normally, this may include:
✅ Security Deposit
Usually 2 months rental
✅ Advance Rental
Usually 1 month rental
✅ Utilities Deposit
Usually 1 month rental
✅ Tenancy Agreement & Stamp Duty
Subject to arrangement between landlord and tenant
For example, if the rental is RM2,000/month, the tenant may need to prepare around:
💰 2 months security deposit = RM4,000
💰 1 month advance rental = RM2,000
💰 1 month utilities deposit = RM2,000
Estimated total before move-in: RM8,000
So before renting a house, it is always better to prepare around 4 months rental as move-in cost.
This helps the rental process go smoother and avoids misunderstanding before signing the tenancy agreement.
📌 Actual amount may vary depending on landlord, property type, and tenancy terms.
