Penang Medi-City: A New Standard for Healthcare and Urban Living
Penang Medi-City, spanning 235.81 acres in Bandar Cassia, Batu Kawan, is set to revolutionize healthcare and urban development in Penang. This RM2 billion project, developed in three phases, will integrate healthcare, residential, retail, and commercial components. The first phase, covering 51.17 acres, focuses on creating a dynamic ecosystem, combining modern infrastructure with world-class healthcare services.
Phase 1 Highlights
Specialist Hospital: A 200-bed facility, occupying 30% of the phase, will provide cutting-edge medical services for local and international communities.
Mixed-Use Development: The remaining area will feature residential and commercial spaces, ensuring a balanced and vibrant urban environment.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow highlighted the project’s potential to boost Penang’s economic resilience and attract global investors. The development is expected to contribute RM2 billion to Penang’s GDP and create tens of thousands of jobs across healthcare, construction, retail, and other sectors.
