First, what is an OPR?
Overnight policy rate (OPR) is an interest set by the Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), which the banks need to pay for it when there is overnight lending between banks.

If when OPR increased, there are pros and cons for the people.
PROS:
✅Increase of savings and FD interest
✅Appreciation in exchange rate
✅Attracts inflow of foreign capital

CONS:
❌Increase of loan interest
❌More difficult to obtain a loan for people/SMEs
❌Increase of housing loan interest
