2005
i-City was first conceived as a RM1.5 billion township development with about 5 million square feet of approved built-up.
2008
i-City was awarded with MSC Cybercentre status.
2009
i-City unveiled its City of Digital Lights, designed with million of LED lightscapes to the public for the very first time.
2011
i-City entered into a Management and Development Agreement with the Selangor State
Government and Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam (MBSA). Since then, the development and management of i-City is governed by that agreement. Under the same agreement, i-City is permitted to have leisure, night tourism and other cosmopolitan lifestyle outlets and activities under 24/7 operation. i-City also obtained the Temporary Occupation License (TOL) for its garden landscape planning on about 30 acres of buffer zone surrounding its township.
2012
i-Berhad launched two property developments dubbed i-Residence and i-SoVo. i-Residence is i-City's first residential development with a Gross Development Value (GDV) of RM232 million. i-SoVo stands for Small Office Versatile Office, is a commercial development with a GDV of RM64 million.
2014
The i-SoVo project was completed and the Best Western @ i-City opened for booking. Present
i-City has now evolved into a RM5 billion ultrapolis development with an approved built-up of 13 million square feet. They are sustaining the design of international business hub by day and lifestyle haven by night. The i-City interchange, which will connect the site directly to the Federal Highway, is nearing completion. To date, countless amusing attractions are available at i-City's Leisure Park such as City of Digital Lights, Mist Fountain, Dancing Waters, SnoWalk, WaterWorld, FunWorld, Red Carpet, Trick Art Museum, House of Horror, Space Mission, Itsy Bitsy, Fun Drive, Jungle Adventure, Typhoon, Submarine and Adventure Studio.
