The next generation of tech talent is already thinking about AI, data, and digital infrastructure. At the DayOne Data Centres Tech & AI Career Expo in Kuala Lumpur, that energy was everywhere: 30 tech ecosystem companies, hundreds of aspiring graduates, all in one room.

OCS Malaysia was there joining the conversation, both on stage and on the floor. Our Operations Director Jeff Loh joined the panel on skills and mindsets for future tech professionals. His advice to the graduates: “Stay passionate and curious, keep upgrading yourself, and embrace new tech applications, from IoT and AI to modern Facilities Management systems. Technology will keep evolving, but it's your mindset that will determine how far you go.”

Our HR team spent the day at the booth in real conversations with students and young professionals exploring where their careers could take them.

Sometimes, the smallest signs can point to something serious. Childhood cancer is rare, but it does happen, and early detection can save lives.

Pay attention to what your child is expressing. If they complain often about unexplained pain, are unusually tired, have frequent fevers, bruises, or swellings, don’t dismiss it. Trust your instincts and seek medical advice.

Some common signs to watch for include:
• Unusual lumps or swelling
• Sudden, unexplained weight loss
• Frequent infections or fevers
• Ongoing pain in one area
• Pale skin or unexplained bruises
• Vision changes or persistent headaches
• Limping or difficulty walking

You know your child best. If something feels off, don’t wait. Early action can make all the difference. Let’s stay aware, stay informed, and support each other in keeping our children healthy.

Here’s how YOU can help.

Is there a white glow that appears in your child’s eye in photos?
Do not take it lightly, as it could be more than just a reflection.

It could be Retinoblastoma – a rare but serious eye cancer in children.

Early signs include:
• A white reflection in the pupil (especially in flash photos)
• Crossed or wandering eyes
• Vision problems
• Swelling or redness in the eye

In Malaysia, early diagnosis = over 90% survival rate.
Treatment is available in major public hospitals, such as HKL and HUKM. Options include chemotherapy, laser therapy, or surgery, depending on severity.

Early detection can save your child’s vision —and potentially their life.
If you notice anything unusual in your child’s eyes, don’t wait. See an eye specialist immediately.

Here’s how YOU can help.

Did you happen to know?

Every year in Malaysia, hundreds of children are diagnosed with cancer. Many of them face this battle in silence.

The most common types of cancer affecting children here include:
• Leukemia (blood cancer)
• Brain and spinal tumors
• Lymphomas
• Solid tumors like neuroblastoma and Wilms' tumor

Early signs, such as unexplained fevers, fatigue, lumps, or persistent pain, often go unnoticed, leading to delayed diagnosis. But early detection saves lives.

Treatment like chemotherapy and surgery is possible, but it's tough. Not just on the child, but on the whole family. Even with government support, the cost of care, travel, and time away from work adds up fast.

Here’s how YOU can help.

Did you know?

Childhood cancer is the leading cause of disease-related death among children in Malaysia, yet many still don’t recognize the early warning signs.

Awareness saves lives.
With early detection and proper treatment, 70–80% of childhood cancers are curable. But too many go undiagnosed or are treated too late.

Let’s change that.
Together, we can raise awareness, support affected families, and offer the opportunity to underprivileged families to get healthcare access for their child in need.

Your support could change their lives!
OCS Malaysia will be hosting the Hike for Children’s Cancer 2025, together with Children Cancer Association Malaysia (CCAM), on the 9th August 2025 to raise funds for underprivileged children afflicted by cancer. All monies raised through the sale of tickets will be directly utilised to pay for the cost of treatment for these children.
