We are set on a beautiful lagoon that is perfect for swimming and SUPS for anyone wanting to bring their own equipment. Beach: is 2kms away and whilst great for walks and whale spotting, not recommended for swimming
Nature walks, guided hikes around the local communities are a must
The lagoon and the beach are both fantastic locations for kite boarding enthusiasts (please supply your own equipment)
Diving and whale watching excursions can be arranged in nearby Zavora
WHAT TO BRING - the essentials! Food and drink for self catering - there are gas hobs and a shared fridges in the guest communal kitchens and a lightly stocked bar of soft drinks, beer and cider / Cool box/boxes/Torch – extremely important as there is limited lighting / Mosquito coils and repellent (Mosquito nets and bedding are provided) / Malaria prevention/Sunscreen/Towels

We are 7 kms from Quissico town where you will find local shops should you want to buy more supplies, and where you will also find a few bars/restaurants. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

1/ a blueprint of a means of construction, lifestyle and responsible tourism that can strengthen the local economy and demonstrate the value of the abundant resources available, whilst preserving the environment, traditions and culture
2/people a chance to experience a lifestyle living “off grid” that contributes less to consumerism, and lends itself more to preserving our environment.
3/ a platform to experiment with different building techniques and materials, their sustainability and suitability for further development of a range of eco homes in the area
4/opportunity for employment and skills development: the lodge has been built employing only local people who have typically been unskilled and who are continually learning what works and what doesn’t as they develop their skills and knowledge. So expect minimal electricity, bucket showers to reduce water consumption, and a variety of different accommodation styles with a local influence. Quissico is on the EN1 highway,350kms north of Maputo,135kms south of Inhambane, and 150kms south of Tofo. Regular shuttle buses run in either direction, pick up from town upon prior arrangement if you do not have your own vehicle. Please note, the lodge has minimal electricity, we highly recommend you plan your journey to arrive in daylight hours to allow you time to get orientated.
