I knew a guy 4 years ago who had over N800m in his bank account.
I approached him to invest in real estate, specifically Heaven Estate, which was selling for N35m per unit at the time.
However, he declined, stating that he preferred to keep his money in the bank and withdraw from it periodically. Last 2 years, I encountered him again, and he asked me for N100,000.
He had depleted his N800m fortune. Interestingly, the value of Heaven Estate has appreciated significantly, with a unit now costing over N600m.
If he had invested in just three units, his financial situation would be vastly different today. Unfortunately, he is now struggling financially and cannot even afford a car.
This scenario highlights a common mistake people make.
Many individuals view investment opportunities as fraudulent, and some people with innovative ideas lack the financial resources to bring them to fruition.
Successful entrepreneurs like Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, and Mark Zuckerberg rely on external funding to grow their businesses and be who they are today.
It is essential for some of you here to recognize that saving millions in the bank may not generate significant returns, as banks often use deposited funds to provide loans to does same business you run away to invest in.
If you are hesitant to invest in startups, consider partnering with established businesses.
Seek out individuals running successful companies and explore potential investment opportunities.
