*NOW YOU HAVE GOTTEN ADMISSION, WHAT NEXT?*
In the recent weeks, I must say that the adrenaline level of Jambites ( aspiring Undergraduates) may have increased in anticipation of the admission list of their respective schools . As at now, many schools have released their lists and to the shortlisted set of new undergraduates, I say a resounding congratulations.
However, gaining admission is only the end to Jamb struggles but is laden with new challenges and responsibilities. We at *GETHOSTEL NIG LTD,* have shortlisted a list of necessary things that should be done for a smooth transition to the University.
(1). Your Credentials: It is imperative that you get your credentials handy, reach out to your secondary schools for the original copies of your certificates and prepare for the registration.
(2). FIND INFORMATION:
Yes, information is key. It is wise that you check on the school's website to find out information and procedures for registration. Also, some of the information you may need will be unofficial hence, the need to strike a conversation with your peers or senior undergraduates. This will help you avoid some unnecessary actions. This brings us to a new lesson for the undergraduates, " the difference between yourself and your course mates is the information ,you carry".
(3). NO TIME TO WASTE:
This is Nigeria and we should think fast to avoid pitfalls. Many people may just be basking in the euphoria of their status and forget to commence their registration on time. This is dangerous , given the volatile nature of admissions and according to one of my friends"Your admission is not yet complete, until you are registered ". If you are not fast, your admission will be gifted to another person and the excuse will be that you didn't accept the admission.
(4). PREPARE:
True to say, Admission into the higher institution may just seem like going to every other school but it's more than that.
To excel at a thing, you must put your heart into it and that's what we @ *GETHOSTEL NIG LTD* wants you to do. Preparation emotionally, behaviour-wise and in every ramification will help you avoid being taken unawares and to perform better than your peers who are unprepared.
(5). CHECK OUT A HOSTEL:
If you live outside the state of your Institution or even far from it, getting a hostel is must. However, we should not underestimate the effect of hostel environment on our academic, social and psychological capacities since it will be a home to us throughout our stay in the higher Institution. Therefore, a bad choice of hostels should be avoided, this may entail that we put a little more efforts to find a hostel that suits our pocket and taste.
