HOW TO HIT A LONG/WIDE MARGIN BOS
To hit a long-margin Break of Structure (BOS) in trading, first identify a clear bullish market structure with higher highs (HH) and higher lows (HL). Wait for price to pull back toward a key support, demand zone, or previous higher low rather than entering immediately. For a stronger BOS confirmation, price should decisively break and close above the previous significant swing high, preferably with strong momentum or increased volume. On a lower timeframe, you can then look for a retest of the broken level before entering long.
For the long entry, place your stop-loss below the most recent valid higher low or below the demand/retest area, and target the next major resistance or liquidity zone. A useful confirmation combination can be BOS + retest + bullish candlestick confirmation + RSI holding above 50. Avoid treating every small high break as a BOS—the broken high should be structurally significant. Aim for a favorable risk-to-reward ratio such as 1:2 or better, while remembering that BOS setups can still fail & should be managed with controlled risk. Trade responsibility!
